In Wisconsin, just over 70% of all eligible voters cast ballots (“eligible voters” is an estimate of the number of citizen residents of voting age). [3,071,434 votes cast](http://fox6now.com/2012/11/29/wisconsin-set-voter-turnout-record-in-fall-2012-general-election/), out of 3,515,296 registered voters (as of Nov 5, [according to this WI gov document](http://gab.wi.gov/sites/default/files/publication/65/registeredvotersbymunicipality_pdf_11336.pdf)) shows that 87% of registered voters cast ballots state-wide!

The city of Madison had 186, 371 registered voters on Nov. 5., and 150, 198 votes cast, or just under 81% of registered voters. I haven’t found an estimate of “eligible voters” for Madison. Still, Madison is vaunted as a very politically active city, and it’s interesting that it under-performed the state as a whole by a significant percentage.

Los Angeles Califonia 51.6 %

Which is pretty much our average.

Judging by the plumes of pot smoke rising from the polling places, pretty high.

Where did you find those numbers?

[The CA Secretary of State Website](http://vote.sos.ca.gov/returns/status/) says Los Angeles County had a 68% voter turnout with 3,236,704 votes cast out of 4,758,437 registered voters.

Statewide it was 71.3% with 13,013,098 votes cast out of 18,245,970 registered voters.

No clue about Redondo Beach.

Reid (NSW) 91.06% formal votes cast, down from 94.98% in 2007.

Oh … the US Presidential election … never mind.

The OP was asking about votes out of all eligible voters. That’s going to be a significantly smaller then the fraction of registered voters that went to the polls.

(still, kind of crazy that 30% of the people that bother to register to vote skip a major election).

I’m not sure. Is there a site that has statistics on all precincts in the country, all together?

No, I was asking about turnout in whatever form is available. I provided both percentage of “eligible” and “registered” voters state-wide because the numbers were there – and I was even rather surprised that the state came up with an estimate of total eligible voters.

I asked about turnout around where you live, not turnout everywhere. Though that would be interesting too. I was pretty stunned that WI had such a high turnout among registered voters – I don’t recall ever seeing such a large percentage in the US.

There are 512,937 adults in DC. 483,600 of them are registered. 294,254 voted.

That’s 57.3% of the adult population, and 60.8% of registered voters.

My county (Alachua, Florida) clocked in at 73% - that was down from 80% in 2008.

I couldn’t find any data specific to Gainesville.
