About 3 short films I am working on now is as close as I can get. I don’t think I could ever write a book. ---

Writing for young adults, here. Almost finished my first book, laying things out for the second. No idea if it will be crap or maybe okay, but I’m having a _blast_ writing it. Fantasy/adventure type stuff. Stuff I would have loved to read at that age. Stuff I wished was written and/or just couldn’t find. It’s like watching my brain puke, but funner. No, I don’t use metaphors like that in the books. That would be _terrible_. Writing here on the Dope is like masturbation. Writing books is like tantric sex. Do _not_ quote me. ---

I’ve written a first draft of a book, which is essentially publishable as is minus punctuation errors up the wazoo. I need to rewrite one scene and make some minor changes, but am still waiting for a month of free time in which to do that. Two books currently in print, one in submission, six children’s books almost ready for submission, one being researched, and nine chapters of a murder mystery written. ---

All these published authors are really making me regret ever opening this thread. It’d be cool to have a novel published…at least _somebody_ liked it, even if it doesn’t make a dime. ---

I’d be interested enough to buy it if I found it in a bookstore. You didn’t ask for comments or suggestions, so I’ll not bother you with them. Feel free to email me if you do want to be so bothered. I do know that there are times I like feedback on what I’ve written–but only sometimes 😉 . My own novel is 33 chapters along, out of an anticipated 40. I’d guess it’s more fantasy than SF, but I’m not trying to make it fit into any single category. ---

I’ve laid some groundwork for a book about prescription drug abuse in eastern Kentucky. I had planned to work on it during the summertime lull in our clinic, except we never really had a lull. Maybe someday. ---
