I am friends with a few, including the OP. I typically find their posts the most interesting on my feed although there is not much interaction besides liking each other’s memes.
There is one moderator who is extremely active on facebook and it is near impossible to ignore him

I’m not on FB. Taiwan has another social media that I’m active on.
I have many Friends and followers on Facebook.

I must have about 30 or so. When friend suggestions on FB show that I already have ten or fifteen mutual friends with the potential new friend, I know they’re likely Dopers so I hit the friend button. And as far as I can recall, these requests are almost always accepted. Following Idle Thought’s profile is one big reason this situation so often comes up, because his profile is like a Grand Central Station of current and former SDMB members.
