I don’t think I did any of what you are suggesting. I didn’t even say that I was offended. I merely stated that my opinion was that the OP was not funny and that it was my right to say that the OP was not funny. What’s wrong with my opinion or than it’s not popular in this thread? ---

The moment I hit submit, I regretted it, and wanted to edit. Then I decided it would be cooler of me to allow you to respond first. I’m sorry I snapped at you. Because the truth is, that response came from selfishness. I love to laugh. I have a tiny amount of people that share my philosophy for laughter around me (my daughter, husband and best friend). Everyone else I am around, I have to edit hard for, because they think laughing about AIDS means I’m laughing at people with AIDS! And it has been grating on me lately, to have to self-censor so much. I actually opened this thread _looking_ for posters that I knew were going to be offended! That’s not good. So, sorry about that. ---

Actually, I wanted to say that I’m sorry for going all offenderati. I mean, this subject actually isn’t all that funny to me, and I do wish people would stop equating Alzheimer’s with being cutely forgetful, and I think **Stoid** is responding in an unbelievably annoying way, but I try not to be one of those, “THAT’S NOT FUNNY!!” people. It’s just been a rough week, I miss my grandma (I mean, the one who used to bake cinnamon rolls and ask me how my day went; not the one that stares into space and drools constantly) and some other crappy stuff happened today too. Anyway, carry on, funny anecdotes, whatever you got. ---

It’s one in a series of mysteries written by Diane Mott Davidson which incorporates food and recipes into the story line. I find them particularly of interest because I’m a caterer as is the main character in the series. ---

Well, there’s “that’s not funny because it lacks wit” and “that’s not funny because people are suffering and making fun of it is by definition not funny.” If you were A, fair enough. (Do you usually go into threads and critique them in that way? I usually just close threads that don’t seem funny to me, seems easier and faster, but to each his own.) If you were B…then you were obliquely saying you were offended. Which you are free to do as well. Whatever floats your boat. ---

My Alzheimer’s has manifested itself in forgetting what day of the week it is. I picked up my client Miss Daisy a couple weeks back and she asks, Why are you an hour early? Then it hit me… It’s Sunday not Monday! Luckily the mass times are changing so I blame that. We went out for a hot chocolate to kill some time and all was well. Phew, I almost got caught being absent minded again. 😕 Miss Daisy takes something for mild dementia called Aricept and it works like nobodies business. If she forgets to take it she is confused. I really need to ask my doctor about a trial on it. Stoid, Thanks for the laugh. Thanks to my seizure disorder, I have some memory loss. Strangely, it’s limited primarily to movies, mostly to those I’ve seen during the time my seizures were uncontrolled. My husband will turn on a movie and I’ll say, “Hey! I’ve always wanted to see this movie!” To which he’ll respond, “Um, I think you’ve seen this.” I’ll swear up and down that I haven’t, then my memory will be jogged by a particular scene and I’ll have a vague idea of what happens next until I finally remember the whole thing clearly. It makes me a cheap date, though, because for some reason, I consistently forget the same movies, no matter when I’ve seen them or how often. It’s not until I make a note to myself that I’ve seen them that I consistently remember having seen them. Even then I don’t remember what happens until I’m actually in front of the movie. For example, I kept forgetting I’d seen _The Wedding Singer_. I’ve since written it down as a movie I’ve seen, so now I remember. I even remember exactly what I was doing and where I saw it the first time. But I still don’t quite remember what happens in the movie, though at least now I know I’ve seen it (probably four times by now). My seizures also cause me to stop feeling pain for a few days and to become completely emotionless. As a result, I’ve become a relatively good actress. People get freaked out if you don’t react the way they expect you to. Whatever the case, I try to make light of the memory loss. After all, although I’ve done some stupid things in the past, at least the memory loss seems to be relatively benign. Plus, it’s easier to poke fun at it - if I didn’t, it’d be scary. ---
