I had a perfect example tonight at work: While checking in a guest, I couldn’t for the life of me remember my password for the property management system. While making small talk with the same guest, though, I noted that Jimmy Stewart was a native of the guest’s city. Why the hell do I know Jimmy Stewart’s hometown, but not my own stupid password?! ---

The other day I was talking to a friend on the phone while getting ready to leave. I’m attempting to gather everything I need (shoes, keys, etc), getting more and more frustrated because I can’t find it all. Finally my friend asks me what is wrong. ME: I can’t find my stupid cell phone! HER: The one you’re talking to me on? ME: … well, shit. I be an stupids. ---

I can’t tell you how much time I’ve spent in the last 15 years looking for: the remote control that is in my hand; the phone I’m actively talking on; the glasses that are _on my freakin’ face_, etc. etc. etc. My hubby, God bless 'is atheist heart, just chuckles softly and shakes his head. . . Incidentally, he’s never had a fever over 100 degrees, so he has _no idea_ (aside from what my doc told him) what kind of damage they can really inflict. We’re both wildly grateful I didn’t end up either dead or damaged much worse than I was. My doc told him, at the time, it was a 50/50 shot whether I’d live through the next three days, and even if I did, chances were pretty high that I’d end up a vegetable. ☹ ---

My worst one of these moments was the time I was driving to work and pulled into a parking lot because I couldn’t for the life of me remember what I did with my keys. :smack: ---

I spent the morning shopping for an outfit to wear to my son’s graduation. I had thought of wearing this one dress, but need a black cotton cardigan to go with it. At my second store, I found a nice summery skirt to wear instead, so I got that. I then drove to another store, still searching for the black cardy. :smack: I’m tired. ---
