This is a tidbit that I learned about by reading the book’s thirty page introduction [that I complained about in another thread.](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/im-considering-skipping-book-introductions/1013174)

If I had skipped the introduction, I never would have known. I guess reading introductions beforehand does add nuance to the experience.
