The fact that you can’t even use proper words to describe the people in question who are being attacked in ways you casually dismiss basically makes my point. There’s a heavy subset on the SDMB, generally white conservative Christians, who constantly feel like they are being attacked and persecuted while the mods specifically ignore their attackers, without realizing that everybody gets attacked, and the mods ignore everything.

In the very thread in question you’re complaining about, liberals, conservatives, and women were attacked as being “inferior”, and nobody was warned at all. Yet somehow this proves that Libertarians are being treated unfairly.

I asked you to provide concrete examples. You chose not to do so. So, it’s all on your description, which, to me, did not make your case. If you feel that you have concrete examples of people attacking minorities on par with calling them psychopaths then feel free to present them. If not, then you have no real justification for feeling I’m not getting where you are coming from. After all, I DID provide a concrete example of what I was talking about…as did the OP of this thread and several others.

Why yes, that would be acceptable. It’s not an insult to assert that transgenders are any of those things, it’s merely wrong. You could simply debate them on the subject, as I assume people did in this thread that has you so riled. From a medical and psychological perspective I’m sure there are debate points that would counter this OPINION. While asserting that all Libertarians are psychopaths and their philosophy is psychopathic clearly IS insulting.

I don’t understand how these two match up, at all. I’d prefer they BOTH be unacceptable, but also that the libertarian in the first bit be warned, too.

In all debates there are two sides. Often, one side is wrong and the other is right, though sometimes it’s a matter of perspective. In a transgender debate there are at least two sides. You can take the position that the attitudes you describe is wrong (I agree), but the matter is still debatable, and perhaps as in the 9/11 Truther debates some benefit can come out of humiliating those making out of their ass assertions.

But there is no debate in simply flaming by saying all of <insert hated group> are psychopaths and their philosophy or guiding principal is psychopathic.
