So, I had gumption, and I walked home from work tonight. . .

What did I do on the way home tonight? First, I stopped in at ARCO to fill up the ol’ tankerino, then I hit Peets to pick up gaskets for my stovetop espresso maker. That’s about it.

Could I walk home from work? In daylight, on a non-weather-handicapped-day, no problem. It would take a couple of hours; all on sidewalks or bike trails. Since VTA Light Rail runs within a 20-minute walk of home/work, I don’t think I’ll ever have to depend on my tootsies for the entire trip, though.

Why, thank you ma’am.

Really.

I’m also afraid of heights, and he’s 6’4".

Think on that.

P.S. Good for you Tripler.

8.24 miles today, according to my GPS. I went GeoCaching, but there were too darn many people out today–was a beautiful 76 degrees.

Had a great time, a great walk, and now my feet are sore.

Huzzah gumption!

Not too long ago, I decided to see if I could walk to one of my petsitting clients and back. Just because you still have to test yourself from time to time.

It was about 9 miles. It took a long time, but that’s because I’m a fairly slow walker, and I was knitting as I walked.

I wasn’t that sore either, but I did mess up the big toe on my left foot. Apparently that boot was a little tighter than I thought it was.

Yeah, I got a blister on my left big toe tonight too–but I do also have relatively new shoes. If this 8-miler didn’t break 'em in a bunch, I don’t know what will.

Lessee, that’s fourteen and a quarter miles this week. W00t!
