My first and only post hospital visit to a neurologist was, and I paraphrase the visit, “sucks to be you”. So it’s been visits with my primary caregiver and a pain specialist. The pain specialist is on going and it’s a step ladder of treatment. My next caregiver visit is soon and my goal is to task her with a search for someone who specializes in shingles around the eyes. The neck problems were recent and have been addressed. I needed that improved in a timely manner because I broke off the 5th cervical bone “tab” when I was a teenager and that has been a pain in the neck as I age. It’s one of those “Doctor, it hurts when I do this” comedy routines.
Right now I haven’t found anyone who can fix this. It’s a virus that stays with you and when it’s around the eyes the associated problems can also stay with you. Fortunately it’s a fraction of the initial pain. It’s not like the hell people go through with something like migraines.
The only real downside is that I planned to retire and work part time. I have a job waiting for me that is manual labor. It’s a job I would be good at and have fun doing along with total control of hrs worked. I’ve already started drawing social security but I’m not up to physical labor. So I’m going to continue to work from home where I can control my environment. If I’m feeling a bit off I can just go to bed during lunch hour which is a nice benefit.
All in all I’m not bad off.
That’s good to hear.
