I’m at episode five and I am hooked. Great characters and some great acting. Two huge observations so far: 1. I totally thought that [Peter Krause](http://media.giphy.com/media/ETd1MMxDyDeak/giphy-facebook_s.jpg) was [Darri Ingolfsson](http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/havenmaine/images/3/3f/Adian.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20131103022330). I saw Krause (in SFU) and thought to myself “Isn’t he the guy who played Oliver Saxon on the last season of Dexter?” If so, I guess that actor knew Michael C Hall well enough already. 2. In one scene (in season one, episode four) Michael C Hall is watching the tv show OZ (which I recently finished and also loved). I just found it kind of funny that he was watching a show that had at least three actors that would become future characters (LaGuardia, Doakes, and Angel) on Dexter along with him. Also, just for the record, I’ve seen all of Dexter (and loved that show too) BEFORE watching this. I think Michael Hall is a great actor and, while the whole story and characters are great, he’s one of the biggest reasons I’m enjoying the show. Oh, and Lauren Ambrose? Hahaha, [remember THIS topic I made](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=751825)? If you read the OP of it, you’ll see that Can’t Hardly Wait is one of my favorite movies…and this is another prime example of what that OP entails too (knowing someone from another, smaller work before one they’re probably best known for). ---

_Six Feet Under_ is a great series. We missed a couple seasons in the middle though. I recall hearing that Peter Krause originally read for the part of the gay brother. I think he said that himself, on one of the Special Features. Seen all of _Dexter_ and loved that series. Michael C. Hall is indeed a talented actor. ---

One of the best series out there: five seasons without jumping the shark, and the best series finale ever. I’m not a real fan of Lauren Ambrose, as her acting always seems to be a lot of her just mugging, but she got better as the series went on. The rest of the cast was stellar, and some of the cold openings were hysterically funny. ---

I liked the show. And oddly, it improved my impression of funeral homes. I’d always thought of them as scammers preying on people at the worst point in their lives. But there were interesting moments in which the characters, Federico especially, would explain what was needed to make the deceased presentable. And the deaths that opened each episode were usually interesting. (One guy stood up in a limo or a party bus, sticking out the sunroof, and whacked his head on a traffic light.) ---

I binged it a few years ago. Great show! The cold openings were great. Some were disturbing, some were heartbreaking, and some were hilarious. ---

Another great cold opening: It was based on an urban legend. Some guys were taking helium filled sex dolls to a bachelor party. One escaped through the sunroof and took off into the sky. A fundamentalist Christian woman in another car thought that she was witnessing the rapture, jumped out of her car shouting “take me Jesus” and was struck and killed by another car. ---

I did like the first season, but I eventually lost interest in the show and Brenda was a big reason. Hated the character and for whatever reason Rachel Griffiths is one of those actors I just don’t care for. All the praise for the finale has tempted me to go back and revisit it, but I always have so much other stuff to watch I still haven’t gotten there. ---

Great series. I thought the middle of the final season lagged a bit (as i recall it, everybody was smoking pot by then). My favorite death was the runner. ---

I watched it all the way through as it was released on video. Enjoyed it enough to stick with it and the finale was great. Now that I have HBO Now I’ve been thinking about re-watching it. I just finished the final season of Sons Of Anarchy and it took me a while to figure out who one of August Mark’s hit squad was. It was the black guy who was the partner of Michael Hall’s character on SFU. He did a great job playing a really scary guy. ---

I’ll co-sign on SFU being lowkey one of the best series ever. So many of the characters reminded me of people I actually know, it was a little creepy. I liked the opening with Santa Claus on the bike. Scarring children for life, hilarious! ---

My favorite opening death scene may have been: The guy who answers his phone while he’s preparing to light his gas stove. You think he’s going to blow himself up for sure, but no-o-o-o-. ---

I watched it when it originally aired and it’s been one of my favorite shows since then. As others have said, the final episode is one of the best ever made. I was also a big fan of _Dexter_ and watched the entire series. Michael C. Hall is good in both, but the last 3 seasons of _Dexter_ went seriously downhill. I’ve also liked Lauren Ambrose since _Can’t Hardly Wait_ and always enjoyed watching her in _Six Feet Under_. ---
