# So if OS X Lion doesn't have RSS in Mail, what happens to my old RSS feeds?

Do they just disappear? And what should I use to view them?
I find RSS feeds in Mail pretty convenient. Not sure why they _had_ to eliminate that.

I’ve used Google Reader for quite a while. It’s handy because it is a web page so you can access it from anywhere. I’ve also used RSS Owl and find it to be okay as well. I’ve never tried Vienna or NewsFire but I assume they’re also perfectly usable.

One question that hasn’t been answered, however, is where the RSS feeds I already have in Mail _go_ when I switch over to Lion. Do they just go poof?!

In Finder’s Menu: Go-\>Go to Folder
Enter: ~/Library/Mail/V2/RSS
All your RSS feeds are there. Each feed has its own directory in which there is a file called Info.plist. Either open that in a text editor or double click it (Property List Editor should open).
The feed’s URL is a string called “RSSFeedURLString”. Use that in another RSS reader. I use NetNewsWire.

I’m not sure what your problem is, in my Mail under Lion, RSS feeds are alive and well, I can even add new ones with the “+” button. Or do you mean Mountain Lion?

I didn’t even notice that. He must mean Lion. It was shitty of Apple not to publicise this, I just happened to read it in a review before I installed. Then I found out that Lion’s RSS integration is crap as it doesn’t support drag and drop between RSS clients AND has no decent export facility. I ended up doing it all by hand to NetNewsWire.
It has been the only thing I have disliked about Mountain Lion though.
