Let me put on my “Bad Brent” shirt and then we’ll talk. It stays strong all 6 seasons and ends perfectly. Wanda will start to grow on you. And let me be the first to say it… “Jackass!” ---

Wanda is, by far, my favourite character. Karen and Davis are, IMO, the weakest links. I tend to tune out when they’re the focus of the scene. (Sadly, because Tara Spencer-Nairn is a gorgeous woman.) ---

All the other characters work well, but Wanda’s a gem! I’ve met people just like everybody there, and seen that town all over Saskatchewan. Great series! – Bob, Saskatchewanite born and raised ---

I watched clips on youtube first. Then got the dvds. I identify with shows about small town life. I still love the Andy Griffith show. I see a lot of the same values in Corner Gas. It’s updated and more modern but the closeness of people that grew up together remains the same. Seems like there is a lot of single people in Dog River. Nearly all the characters are single except Brents parents. ---

I don’t watch a lot of TV. Honestly, and I’m not trying to sound snobbish; I just don’t have that much spare time. But Corner Gas is a very good show. It’s well written, well acted, and quite humourous. I’ve seen, maybe 15 or 20 episodes and like it a lot. Even if it wasn’t Canadian I’d like it. The fact that it is, is an added bonus. ---

I loved it. My husband and I used to watch it on WGN. But it’s no longer on WGN and there isn’t anywhere in our neck of the US we can watch it. I’m almost tempted to buy the DVDs. I like it. And **Silenus** … I vaguely remember an episode where Brent comes up with a response for every time Oscar says “Jackass” … but I can’t remember what he said. ---

If you’re not Canadian, you might miss some of the references, though (e.g. the episodes that riff on “The Littlest Hobo”, Participaction, and the Summit Series). My favourite character is Hank by a long shot, probably followed by Oscar and Emma. -another former Saskatchewan resident ---

It is, quite truly, like reliving my childhood. I enjoy watching it, but sometimes it’s this feeling of ‘I am watching my life.’ I wonder if New Yorkers ever felt that way about parts of Seinfeld, or medical students feeling that way about Scrubs. I like the episode where blowing up the barn was a huge event. My dad has a story about a shack, a bunch of RM councilors, a fire, a nearby brand new house and the local newspaper. I got to go to the soundstage where they do all of the scenes outside of the stuff that requires Dog River. Unfortunately, they had just taken down the set for the season. ☹ ---

I thought this show was great, and I turned my parents on to it (they’re in their late 50s) and they thought it was great too. I think that’s the mark of a well-done show when it can be admired equally by two generations. Of Americans, noless! ---
