> Sorry to bump this slightly old thread, but what happened to the pictures, man? We’ve been waiting for months for pictures. Months!

Woah! Thanks for the bump. I finally managed to recover the photos and get the good ones online, I just totally forgot about posting them here. My apologies.

The photos can be view [here](http://community.webshots.com/album/546560163REHmTe)

The older gentelman with the funny hat is my grandfather. I’m the one with the beard. My brother is the taller, but less attractive one.

It was an awesome trip. Enjoy the photos and please feel free to ask any questions.

And Antarctica is nice, too. 😉

Yes, it **is** nice.

And yet, nobody seems to want to build a Taco stand there…

Wow. Those pictures rock.

It looks cold there, is it cold? 😉

Depends on your definition of cold I suppose. When I was there it was ‘summer’, so the temperate reached a nice balmy 40 degrees farenheit. Generally it was right around freezing. What really made it cold, however, was the wind. A nice strong gust would really send a chill through your body.

**CMiller** , while you were there, did you get a chance to uncover any mineral specimens or fossils?

So were the Southern Constellations pretty cool? I’m headed for Chile and Argentina tomorrow and am eagerly anticipating looking up and seeing a completely different sky.

To be honest I don’t recall them being any different, but that’s due to my lack of observation.

I took a class on ‘Religion & Science’ this semester and we spent the first few weeks going over early astronomers and just how acccurate they came to be. I wish I’d taken it earlier – it gave me a newfound appreciation for looking up occasionally.

Enjoy your trip; if it’s anything like mine there will be more than enough to see at eye level. I think we’d all like to see your photos when you get back.
