I suppose I should have thrown a smiley in there, but oh well. Honestly, I was half-reading the thread while doing several other things. It’s much more amusing if you imagine the bull pens full of bears instead, and twinks instead of calves for the roping. I suppose that would make something else mentioned a lesbian heavy petting zoo, though. Head 'em up, ride 'em down, cut 'em out, (Ooh, daddy!) raw hide! ---

I went to one of these years ago in the DC area. Loved it! My favorite event was when teams composed of a gay man, a lesbian, and someone in drag caught a goat and put panties on it. 🙂 ---

They have these in Little Rock occasionally (and hold fun bear parties at the clubhouse too!) but I’ve never been to one of their rodeos. Sure sounds like fun from what everyone’s said here though. ---

I went to the Gay Rodeo in LA once and there was an event that had me laughing for several days afterwards: The Gay Drag Race. It was a bunch of guys in Cowgirl drag, wearing ridiculously high heels, running through a muddy track. Funniest thing I had seen in a long time. The Gay Rodeo was a cool event - lots of real, professional rodeo circuit cowboys. Many of them regularly compete in the so-called “normal” rodeos. I have not yet gone to the local event in Las Vegas, but I have heard it is one of the best in the US. ---

[/QUOTE] Again, It wasn’t a very nice joke and I shouldn’t have brought it up in any case. But also **Rick** asked, and I have a good deal of respect for him. So here goes. I overheard it amongst a group of rodeo cowboys, one saying to the other, I see why you have your name on the back of your belt so Bob(or whoever) can see who he’s humping tonight. There, I’m glad to be done with it. It may sound strange but I don’t know a lot of gay men but I have the same respect I have for them as anyone else. This was not always the case, men change their hearts, kind of like just growing up it seems to me. I like to joke with everyone however everyones sense of humor is different.One must learn where to draw the line, however Just yesterday at work I saw one mechanic scare another by riding his motorcycle up fast and skidding to a halt in front of the other. The one who did it was a young guy who thinks he’s tough and the guy he did it to is an older tech like myself who is tough and I thought he was going to knock the younger mechanic of his bike. It was tense for about 10 seconds, I was preparing to break them up if need be as work is not the place to brawl. Fortunately it didn’t get started for both men. A fist fight can turn ugly if allowed to proceed unchecked, sometimes they can’t be stopped. A most distasteful event but sometimes it happens. P.S. No Mr. needed, I’m just a regular guy like everyone else. ---
