So long, Taurus

The car will never be collectible, but not for those reasons. The Buick Grand National is very collectible, yet it shares all those traits.

What makes a car collectible? Two things: rarity and desirability. That’s about it. The Taurus is one of the most popular cars ever built, and it’s utterly generic.

'69 Camaros share a lot of similarity in structure, design, and quality with 1969 Chevy Impala sedans. The Camaro is highly collectible, the Impala is not.

The exception for the Taurus might be the SVT version, but I doubt it because cars have gotten so much better in the last few years that even the SVT version of that car is pretty tame.
