This heat wave had to choose today to roll into our area. We have tickets to the B-52 concert, but it’s an outdoor event and nobody is good enough to draw me out of the AC in 95 degree heat. Somebody please tell me that they’re no longer worth seeing anyway. Please? Crap. ---

Sorry to hear it. To the other replies: I heard Dana Gould once do impressions of Fred Schneider doing other songs. Unbelievably hilarious! Both posts made me think of that. ---

I saw them about 12 years ago at an outdoor venue, sharing a bill with the Pretenders and the Royal Crowne Revue (Loungecore was hot that year). It was great unpretentious fun. ---

Yes, I have to say the lack of elephant shit was a major plus. Also, no rivers of blood and pus. ---

It didn’t help that they played several songs off of their then-new album, all of which were horrible, including the eponymous single “[Funplex](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iyjls0wueM0&feature=fvst).” But even the older stuff that I like didn’t sound all that great. Maybe I caught them on an off-night, but the performance was on the wrong side of lackluster. ---
