I donā€™t get it. Your first link shows a variety of jewelery, and the second shows a specific piece. Link problem? If not, are you saying you wanted it all? For shame, dearie. Musnā€™t be greedy, now! (This coming from a woman who canā€™t leave a bookstore with less than her own body weight in new books.) Personal aside: My mother wanted a certain bracelet for Christmas one year, and pointedly hanged a picture of it on the refridgerator door. What she got was a pair of insulated rubber boots. She was angry about it, but I did see Dadā€™s point: he wanted to make sure her feet were warm. I tried to convince her that he was actually being sweet and thoughtful, but I donā€™t think she ever quite saw it that way. When she finally asked him about the picture, he said that he though sheā€™d hanged it there because it was a pretty picture. Youā€™d think after more than a quarter of a century of marriage, sheā€™d understand that Dadā€™s not one for subtle hints. ---

Personally, I hate it when my wife has a birthday wishlist. If she knows what she wants and tells me, then my part of the equation is simply to drive to the store and shell out the cash. What fun is that? That said, itā€™s always nice to be able to both surprise her and exceed her expectations. Which is why I make sure to be very sneaky and keep her expectations extremely low. šŸ˜ƒ ---

Well, at first I gave him a really long list of things, and then I mentioned that I really like this style of bracelet. I had also asked for gift certificates for manicure/pedicure (never had one done professionally), a Dave Matthews Band sticker for my car, a new dresser, and some other things. I always try to give a wide variety of suggestions, so he can pick what heā€™s comfortable buying. I mean, when I say I want a sweater for Christmas, thatā€™s all I say (along with some color preferences) - I donā€™t give him manufacturer and item number or anything like that. So thereā€™s still and element of personalization from him and surprise for me!
