So... my pelvis doesn't work now? (Just until the baby comes, right?)

Ask your local DOT, I know there are places that give temp disabled tags. And please stop trying to pick your foot up, it should stay attached to the end of your leg! No disassembling yourself!

I had it, but I was already on bed rest for other reasons. The gigantic truss for carrying your belly around helped somewhat, but I needed the really overengineered sturdy one. (On the other hand, I gave birth to a monster baby - nurses in the antepartum during my last month were asking me whether I was having twins or triplets when they saw me. Just one, thanks, although he was over nine pounds at 37 weeks, with his own private swimming pool.)

For taking shoes on and off, try standing in front of a railing or chair or something, and bending your knee to raise your foot behind you, and taking it off or putting it on from that position (keeps your knees together). Or get slip-ons. For getting into the bathtub, I would hold onto the grab bar and lift one foot behind me until it was parallel to the floor, then rotate my whole body until it was over the tub, and lower it. Repeat process with other foot, and you have successfully entered the tub while keeping your knees pretty close together. It still hurt, but it was uncomfortable instead of excruciating. You can probably do it even if you don’t have a grab bar in the tub - just be careful.

But that would make it SO much easier to put pants on.
