I’ve got a completely different take on this post. When I read it, my first thought was, “wow, this happened to someone else”. During the years I lived in Taiwan, I had a friend who married a _stunningly_ beautiful local girl. According to some other expats I knew however, she did not have the best of reputations. Before they were married, I sat him down and talked about this and he assured me that he was entering this situation with both eyes open. Shortly after the wedding, his mother got very ill and he had to return to New York. He asked me if she could stay with me and I said “sure”. Shortly after her arrival, she started going out (dressed to the nines) _every night_. Her girlfriend would stop by around 8 pm and off they would go. I never knew what time she got back because, to her credit, she never woke me up. He seldom called to ask how things were going so I figured he was busy with his mom and didn’t need to hear negative reports about his wife. He was 6000 miles away so what could he do anyway. Weeks turned into months and I stopped worrying about it. Summer rolled around with its horridly hot and humid weather. Now “Gina” started to piss me off. She would walk from her room through the living room to the shower with out her clothes on. I don’t know if she was doing it to tempt me, but I called her out on it more than once. I finally called my friend and made up a story about my sister coming to visit for awhile and needing the room where his wife was staying. She moved out shortly after the call. (The marriage didn’t last, but it wasn’t because of anything I told him.) See, this can actually happen to someone! ---

Yeah, I used to do that a lot more in the past. **Bullitt** is right, I’m either an ass or funny. Beta-chan in now almost eight, if you can believe how fast time flies. She’s headed into second grade in the fall. She takes piano and loves to play with her friends and get into fights with her younger brother when he annoys her. **Didi** is almost six. He’s headed into the final year of the three years of kindergarten. He loves sports cars and is really, really pissed Daddy won’t buy a Lamborghini for the family. Dream on kid. We’re in Taiwan now and so the kids speak Chinese natively. Beta-chan has retained more of her Japanese; TokyoWife always speaks to her in that language in order for them to remember. My wife and I still speak in Japanese as well. I talk to the kids in English. They answer back to Mommy in Chinese since that’s easier and they answer in Japanese to me since that’s their second language. We’re starting to study English more with them. I had close to a breakdown a few years back. I got into AA, sobered up and have crawled out of the depression and anxiety attacks. We’re having so much more fun these days. Life is good. Pough-chan would have been 10 in September this year. Beta-chan gets that she has an older brother who died but Didi still can’t quite understand. He asks if Didi plays with Grandpa up in the sky. ---
