Some months ago, I arrived late at a League of Doom meeting and missed most of the announcements. Thus, when I heard that John McCain had joined our august ranks of ruthless, lying bastards, I was dubious. Can’t be, I thought. Not the John M. I know. Yes, he may support 9 out of 10 of Dubya’s policies, but he’s a good man at heart; he’d only do so if he honestly believed them. Men of good will can disagree and all that. It sounds like McCain was trying to say that Obama didn’t call Palin a pig directly, but intended to insinuate it (hence ‘chooses his words carefully’). ---
