So Ollie (my cat) is acting weird…

My cat is always wandering the house and loudly meowing. Since I don’t speak Cat I have no idea if he’s complaining about not feeling well, trying to find his dead brother, or just trying to drive me crazy.

You’re underestimating him. It’s probably all three, along with planning your murder.

Considering the number of times he’s suddenly stepped into my path or wrapped himself around my ankles, planning my murder is definitely a possibility.

I adopted an elderly little cat with chronic gastric disease, a real delight (other than the room-clearing stench of his excretions) who was mostly silent, except…

Except when he went walkabout around the house, yowling a clear, sharp call he never made otherwise, often with his favorite toy, a little purple plush bear, in his mouth.

I was never sure whether his stomach woes were bugging him more than usual and he was self-soothing, or he was just announcing “I’m walking here!”

Another weird thing that Rascal does: I have a couple of stacks of boxes of books in the corner of my dining room; Rascal has started climbing on top of them and scratching and meowing like he’s trying to get at something. I’m wondering if something has taken up residence there and he’s trying to hunt it. Unfortunately, I don’t have any other place I can move the boxes to at the moment so I can’t check it out.
