As you can see, it is hours later and I just got time to sit down and catch my breath. Damn work challenged winches!!! The sad thing is, is that these are the two you would least expect to have the Monday flu. One is a 55 year old widow without kids at home and the other is a 30-something year old married woman with two kids. From what I know about both of them, neither one is very active as far as recreation or activites. They don’t water or snow ski, hike, camp, party, drink. . . . Nothing. I think a lot of their “rough weekends” are spent making brownies, going to church, and planting their butts in the Lazyboy. At least this is the impression I get from the things they tell me such as: Me: “Did you have a good weekend?” Them: “Yeah, it was pretty busy. I made brownies, went to church, and then kicked back in the Lazyboy”. As far as the 4-10 days – nope, won’t work. Our office is very small and we have a lot of clients that come in every day so we have to have adequate coverage 5 days a week. We tried the compressed work schedule for a while but between the people who were off on their compressed day and these two who still managed to call in sick, we didn’t have enough people to meet our needs. I agree with you Esprix, nothing makes me madder than someone coming into work and spraying their infected snot all over the place. I don’t know if these people are much better than the two in my OP, but coming to work when you are sick doesn’t make you look devoted or responsible, it makes you look like a sick leave tightwad. The next time dork someone shares their bug, I am goinmg to charge my sick day to their sick leave account. The ironic thing is, is that the flu bug or injury always seems to find these two on Sunday evening. Never Wednesday or Thursday, just Sunday. Smart bug! Great timing! I have another lace bra and panty set that I am going to wear tomorrow (VS had a great bra sale this weekend). This one is blue. I think I should save myself the pain and suffering from the scratching and just call in sick. Wednesday I think my hair is going to hurt and Thursday I may stub a toe. ---

My apologies to you Rasa. I was not trying to imply that cramps are never debilitating. I certainly did not express myself well in that post. My point was that this woman calls in sick ALL THE TIME with ANY excuse she can think of. I’ve worked with her for many years and had NEVER heard her once complain of having cramps (and believe me, she complains incessantly about anything that is wrong with her). My point was that, in this instance, it was a convenient excuse. ---

Terrible, terrible…I say expose them both to the authorities ! They may not thank you now but bring the subject out into the open, show everyone how much you’re suffering because of them. What a huge burden they are… And as for those two characters at work …har har…yep, it surely is deeply inconsiderate. The problem is addressing it without forever ruining co-worker relations. Very knotty little problem for which, I don’t believe, there are easy solutions. Venting like this is good, I hope you find a way of bringing the issue up without loosing off both barrels…as it were. Hardy har har L\_C. 😃 Interestingly, this blue bra is a lot softer and less scratchy even though it has more lace. Maybe I built up some callouses in bra territory yesterday, I dunno. Maybe you know an authority that could come inspect? 😉 The situation with the other two boobs at work is pretty much out in the open. No one is too shy to say “Hey thanks a lot asswad, guess who had to cover your butt yesterday” or say “Gee wiz! Glad you could make it.” I told them that I have their phone numbers stuck on my phone and that next time I am going to transfer their clients to their home number. We laughed but they know deep down that I will do it. The other counselors are going to do the same. We are pretty much sarcastic assholes and open with our thoughts. We have a big strip of velcro that we put on chairs when someone is off screwing around. I think the many years we have all worked here has made us more like family than coworkers. Unfortunately, as with families, you get the good and the bad and sometimes you just piss each other off. Slackers. ---

I used to work with a woman who would ALWAYS get sick on Friday when the weather was nice. Oh, she would come to work, but the poor girl was always running to the bathroom every few minutes, and then would have to go home. The funny thing was, she worked right next to me, and as soon as she had the green light to go home, she was on the phone with her hubby, whispering, “Pack my red bathing suit, my blue shorts, the sunscreen, don’t forget enough towels, I’ll stop at the ATM on my way home…” They had a boat, see, and Monday mornings she was always just a wee bit tanner. (more tan?) Hmm, you don’t think she was faking, do you? :rolleyes: ---
