Yeah, she lost but you have found some way to argue that she actually won if only they hadn’t unfairly rigged the system back in 1789. Why didn’t someone tell Hillary how the electoral system worked before she ran for president? So unfair.

Racking up huge leads in places like California and Massachussetts while losing the fucking election does not demonstrate a lot of political savvy.

> Because of the technicality of THE WAY PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS WORK, she did not, in fact, win the election or become president. But you cannot say that she didn’t beat Trump (well, you can until you’re blue in the face, but you would be wrong). She got more votes. More people voted for her than for him. When the votes are counted, she will have more votes. Try to grasp that.

not more electoral votes and thems the ones that count. Didn’t someone tell the politically savvy Hillary campaign that?

Except she lost. She lost based on a system we have used for almost 250 years.

Pointless useless votes. maybe she should have spent less time in California and New York and spent more time in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Wisconsin, etc. Politcally savvy my ass.

Yeah you seem to think a lot of things.

That’s not a lead. That’s like the Denver Broncos saying they actually won 4 superbowls because they actually ran and threw for more yards even if they didn’t get as many points on the scoreboard. Only broncos fans think this isn’t pure idiocy.

Really, because you seem to want it both ways.

See post 36.

“She beat him. She won the election.”

Post 43.

“BUT SHE DID WIN THE ELECTION BASED ON NUMBER OF VOTES.”

> [@](#):
>
> TriPolar said she couldn’t beat Trump. She did beat him–she got more votes. She did not win the election, but she beat Trump by getting more votes. Two million more people voted for her than for Trump. The public chose her over Trump.

I don’t think Trump feels very beaten. How do you think Hillary feels? I bet she goes off and grows a beard like Al Gore did.

> [@](#):
>
> Notwithstanding that the rules of the game dictated that she did not win the Presidency.
>
> I wasn’t talking about whether she won the election. I know she didn’t. I was talking about the fact that she did beat Trump by two million votes.

In the last Superbowl, the Carolina panthers had:

twice as many rushing first downs

twice as many passing first downs

three times as many third down conversions

50% more net yards

over 1.2 more yard per rushing attempt

almost twice as many passing yards

and more time of possession.

And yet almost everyone agrees that they lost because the Broncos got more points on the board.

tldr: popular votes only matter to losers who want to pretend they actually won in some way.

> It is factually correct that she got more votes. It is also factually correct that she did not win the election.

Its not that she didn’t win… she lost. With all her political savvy (- -), she lost. And she lost to Donald Fucking Trump.

I thought so too. Some weird country where they use base seven instead of base ten for IQ scores but that didn’t make sense because you still end up with like a 96 IQ base 10.

> It’s reasonable to blame her, but it’s also reasonable to blame those that voted for Trump. Support for and tolerance of bigotry isn’t okay, and it’s reasonable to put those things into the basket of things to blame (along with Hillary and her campaign) for her loss. It wasn’t just one factor – there were many things that went wrong.

Despite the 70 point electoral loss by Hillary, she lost Wisconsin by less than 30,000 votes; she lost Michigan by just over 10,000; she lost Pennsylvania by 70,000; she lost Florida by over 100,000. If she didn’t suck, that would have been enough to flip the election.

If the bigots won the election then where the fuck were they when we elected a black many with a funny sounding name TWICE? Did they stay home during those elections only to come out for this one? The bigots were not swing in this election.

I believe we already talked about this in another thread – it’s not just bigots; it’s tolerance for bigotry. Apparently some Obama voters aren’t personally bigoted, but they also don’t really care about opposing bigotry – they liked Obama and didn’t care about his race, and now they like Trump and don’t care about the bigoted things he’s said.

Tolerance for bigotry is bad and should be criticized.

Yeah, this seems like deja vu but I can’t locate the other thread.

never mind. I found it.
