“Trump was offering to host it for free, now it’s going to cost the taxpayers a lot” seems to be a widespread sentiment among Trump supporters. I wonder where they got that from? Are they really so dumb as to conflate “at cost” with “no cost,” or are some right-wing pundits willfully spreading this lie? ---

The Democrats only wish they had had something to do with it. Trump backed down because squads of Republicans responded to an impeachable offense. The media isn’t screwed; they’re ecstatic. BTW, did you watch Chris Wallace’s interview with Mike Mulvaney on Fox News today? Chris had a lot of his father burning in him. Mulvaney will be the next to leave; he clearly wasn’t as comfortable insisting that black is white as some of Trump’s spokesliars. ---
