But this is Trump so he was, of course, lying. He was actually offering the use of his hotel “for free” and would have made a substantial amount of money (paid by taxpayers) from the summit. But if you’re the sort of person who believes something is true because Trump said it, then you believe that the Doral summit was going to be free and now the taxpayers will have to pay for it to be somewhere else. ---
