I grew up in south Florida and spent my teenage summers working at a hotel as a pool attendant. Miami in June is approaching “burn your hands on the steering wheel” hot (which peaks in August); the hot afternoons are usually interrupted by brief sun showers that have the effect of ramping up the humidity exponentially.

The only relief comes from the ocean breezes or being out on the water…except Doral is about 20 miles inland.

In short, Miami in the summer is brutal. And Doral - like the rest of the inland region - is drained swamp. Nobody is unhappy not to have to trudge there.

Would not have happened. The former INS is now three agencies, USCIS, ICE, and CPB, and all three are run by Trump henchmen. Such a raid would have been conducted by ICE, and in this administration where self-serving corruption is the #1 rule that supersedes all others, you can be sure that ICE is under double-strict orders to keep hands off all Trump properties. It’s the same principle that directs US government business to them.
