In my state, it was just raised to 73. It might have been 70 before. So I might still get my chance! Having served not quite 3 years ago (albeit, that meant showing up, sitting around for an hour or two, then being sent hom as not needed), that meant I couldn’t be called again for 3 years.
Just to show that in some jurisdictions they are fair, former President Clinton was called in 2003. They excused him.
Absolutely, but it can be a reason and it was burdensome on him to prove it every time for it was too difficult for his loss and needs.
It used to be that in New Jersey police officers were ineligible to serve on juries. I think some other professions were also ineligible. I believe it was in the 90s when that changed. Now just about everyone is eligible. It’s a big waste of time. I know a bunch of cops that have been called but I don’t know one that has ever been picked.
