I room with a history/anthropology major (essentially an archaeology major, but our school doesn’t have that as a major). She subscribes to a service that sends out emails when projects need archaeologist. Usually this is when a big building project is going on and they discover some potentially significant remains. Anyway, she said that she got an email shortly after September 11. Evidently they wanted archaelogists to help sift through the rubble.
