What I gave people: my brother (age 16): an ornament with a picture of us and our friends on it (I also got one for each of them) my sister (age 8): _The Christmas Mystery_ by Jostein Gaarder (I bought it for myself, but after reading it I decided to share the awesomeness) my mom: an ornament and a magnet from my college bookstore my dad: a hat from my college bookstore my friend Julie: a song based on a poem she wrote other people: cards, for I am cheap. ---

So many gifts from so many relatives! the best of which include Kool-aid (tropical punch, of course) and a 2 quart various beverage dispenser, (the spigot is broken but im not about to say anything) some MSU playing cards (2 decks) and some dice for… Yahtzee, yeah, yahtzee a rubber duck head to go on top of my antenna $20 worth of movie gift cards, will be used up before march, i bet windshield wipers (much needed) new suitcase pot (shiny, heavy, and legal) a portable dvd player a new nokia cell phone a fossil watch 11 shirts a one-cup-at-a-time coffee maker a blanket some rectangular pieces of paper with pictures of dead presidents on them a new desk chair bunches of blank cds and dvds and i’m sure a bunch of other things that i cant quite think of at the moment ---

I got totally spoiled…really to an embarrassing degree. That being said, the coolest (by virtue of being most unique and unexpected) thing: my dad got the entire family old Brownie cameras, complete with flash kits, off ebay. I can’t wait to try mine out when the film arrives… ---

What I got- -World of Warcraft Collectors Edition -A Coffee maker -A flatware set -A DVD player w/speakers -2 Dress shirts (for job interviews/work) -2 Belts (ditto) -Money This year I was seriously thinking about things that would be useful for when I move out. So the flatware/coffeemaker/DVD player are a definite plus. Though they aren’t terribly useful right now (though I plan on setting up the coffee maker in my room 😃 ) Getting World of Warcraft collector’s edition was great. The only downside is right now I can’t play it at my house. My computer can run it, and we have AOL broadband, but something about the router won’t let me play online games :mad: so I’ll have my best friend futz around with it. In the meantime, I can always play it off my friend’s house, since he has plenty of computers and that would mean we have 2 accounts (and dualing up with 2 people in the same room is great- much less typing involved when you can just talk to the person next to you! 😃 ) ---

From my SDMB Secret Santa, I got some chocolate and cool logic puzzle books. Mr. Carmichael gave me a cute candleholder thingy. (We’re getting our major Christmas presents next month.) Money from the in law’s and my uncle, most of which went to bills. I got what I _really_ wanted, though: PEACE. A stress-free, drama-free Christmas. We stayed home, watched movies, spent some time with friends and just relaxed. No insane relatives, no traveling, no pressure. ---

And a tank of gas. We ain’t broke, but we are badly bent. On Xmas Eve he gave me a **Mp3 player and a gift card for napster.** I have no idea how to use an Mp3 player or, if I actually need one. My favorite gift is a [photo](http://www.afreeimagehost.com/upload/5573/scouts.jpg) sent to me by my grandmother of my Great Grandfather and my Grandfather in scout uniforms, taken roughly in 1946. My Grandfather (other side) was a scout (still is as a volunteer), my father (his son) is an Eagle scout, my Great Grandfather (pictured) was a scoutmaster, my Grandfather (pictured) was a scout, and I am an Eagle scout. I had no idea my Great Grandfather was involved in scouting at all until today. This photo means a lot to me. ---
