# So, what does The Chicago Reader get out of the Message Board, anyway?

I guess I’m still pretty much of a newbie, since this thread really has filled in a lot of the pieces. I really enjoy the boards, but have only read Cecil when an article has been referred to in a thread. However, from the way posters would refer to him, I wondered: **Is Cecil some kind of a god?** Now I know… 😉

Hey, did anybody notice there’s **AN ACTUAL AD** on the front page today? Finally, Ford Motor Co. has seen the light and decided to take advantage of the “direct line to thousands of the smartest, hippest people on the planet.”

Now if you’ll pardon me for a moment, I need to go click on that banner a few dozen times so the Reader can get some new servers going.
