Apparently major problem at the hosting company – in the wake of last week’s fire that also caused some downtime.
May be up for good – we are scheduled for downtime Tuesday am, that might stil happen. Don’t know, can’t say.

Looks like the Board was down for oh, five hours or so.
At one point I even checked the Chicago Reader website, which was undergoing “maintenance.”
So have all the hamsters been replaced, or can we expect more hiccups?

Dunno. We were doing all right, then we weren’t, then we were again.
At one point all the Creative Loafing sites were down except for the Washington City Paper site, which is not hosted at the same place as Creative Loafing, Chicago Reader, Straight Dope.
Looks like everything’s back now, the Straight Dope was the last to come back. And now the board is updating.
Note that we are scheduled for maintenance early Tuesday a.m. Can’t say if that’s still going ot happen or not.

So what DID you all do this evening?
Hey, I built three tree houses (with adult-sized gerbil tubes connecting them), wrote a novel and a sequel and a prequel, painted the garage and a triptych, and turned our house ninety degrees so we could be in a different neighborhood (and, end up with a prime number for an address-- bonus!).
Oh, and I finally finished that wall-sized tapestry that I started before I discovered the Dope.

This brought back an actual fear I used to have as a child. That when I came home from school one day, my parents would have moved while I was gone and left no forwarding address.

Well, congrats on the short down time. And congrats that an outage is now a remarkable occurance, which is a huge improvement of service since earlier years. No sarcasm intended in the least, and well done.
ETA: and I hope the board doesn’t suffer catastrophic failure because I said what I wrote above. Finagle is a capricious god. 🙂
