# So what's the deal with Steak and Shake?

**davenport** , just out of curiousity, do you go to the one at the Mills or at the Waterfront? I have the experience you mention at the Mills, but find the service reasonable to poor at the Waterfront.

Neither, the one at Century III. Which I guess is really outside of the city. I’ve also been to the one at the airport and the one in Greensburg.

Slight hijack: my momma claims to have worked as a waitress at the original Steak 'n Shake in Illinois, back in the 50’s.

I’ve only eaten at them twice (as they aren’t out here on the left coast) - one of those times the service was extremely slow, the other was average.
