My 1000th post is coming up soon, so this is the party thread. You’re all invited, of course - and incidentally, thanks for all the fun and help along the way. However, ‘bring a bottle’ is so dull (and you can assume the booze is taken care of anyway). So what else can you/will you bring that’s your own very special contribution to the celebrations? ---

A dozen bottles of Astroglide [sup]TM[/sup] 7. The number of a very good defense attorney. So, am I invited? This sounds like my last few parties. What can I say, we get cabin fever up here in the Winter. 😃 ---

I know im not around a lot but I thought I could add to the festivities…I’d like to bring my cement horse. Now before you say that isn’t any fun, think you can ride him and not worry about getting slapped, plus much easier cleanup than a real horse. ---

I’ve got a rusty bucket. It would make a good ashtray or a bottlecap receptacle, except for the bottom being missing. Other than that it’s perfectly good. ---

Here’s my contribution: I was reading the forum a few days ago, and stumbled upon a poster that I recognized and respected, and who had been writing good posts since before I was even lurking. And the person had less posts that I did. Makes me feel like an idiot. I think I’ll have to invoke some sort of algorithm so that my post count will approach 1000 as I read more threads, but never reach it. ---

I’ve got this [link to a post by the party boy](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&postid=2240719#post2240719). I was out-of-pocket at a face time liaison when that aired, and I’ve been meaning to get back in the loop with some utile feedback ever since. But I was stymied. Should I suck up, or should I file a hostile workplace discrimination-based action? What to do? What to do? Well, since the market showed legs past the cyclical dead cat bounce, the options are out of the bath again, and that’s good enough for me. So **ianzin** , I just have to tell you that I for one will follow you to the actualization of our full potential, that your creative is to lust for and would you maybe like to have drinks after the affinity group conference call? ---

You’d think a few more people would be nourishing this thread, especially now that the lovely, stylish **Tansu** has promised CleavageBeer (insert trademark sign). Incidentally, Tansu, I’ve never seen the penguin impressions. All of you, thank you for your contributions. But with just a dozen of us or so, it’s not going to be quite the party I’d hoped for. Then again, with **Honey** around, it seems like maybe it could be a lot of fun, and those who don’t join in… well… their loss! ---
