# so where do you keep your porn?

Mine is on my external hardrive. From the HD there is a folder called “autonrun”, inside which is a series of dummy folders, inide one of which is my porn. My porn folder contains images and videos sorted into folders with names like “actual” and “Ex Ressie”, and any erotic stories I have are encrypted.
I don’t know why.

I just remembered - before I got my external HD, I had my own folder where I would save my documents and things. In this was a folder called ‘AllWalker’s iTunes Music’, inside of which was an artist named ‘New Bossanova’, inside which were a few dummy folders, inside one of which is the set-up described above.
Again, I don’t know why. But I know why I moved it onto the external - routine, innocent searches of the hardrives kept showing my files, complete with previews. :smack:

D:\Other, although I haven’t organized my downloads at all recently, so you’d see all sorts of fun thumbnails as soon as you opened Windows Explorer. I suppose I should download TrueCrypt sometime so I can let people borrow my laptop without breaking into a sweat.
Also, for the guys who have just a daisy chain of folders: you do know all it takes on Windows is go Windows Media Player-\>picture library (or video library) to see everything on all your drives? And that’s assuming your SO isn’t hip to the \*.flv \*.mpg \*.wmv search. _(ETA: beaten to it)_

I keep mine on an external with all my other stuff, in a file cleverly called ‘Pron’. The pictures are in the pictures folder a couple layers down under ‘Sexy’. Erotica is under ebooks.
The rest is on the internet.

holy crap, really? I’ve had a Not Porn folder for years. Brilliant 😛
that said, I mostly do streaming videos these days. But god forbit I ever have a power outtage (I have a laptop) or troubles with the internet connection I have backup porn stored on my HDD (in my Not Porn folder, of course).

Nowhere anymore. Back in the stone age, I had a cardboard box of VHS tapes and a few magazines that I kept stashed in a closet. I put it out next to a dumpster after I got married. It disappeared in less than 10 minutes.
I haven’t bought porn in years now. If I ever want to see it, there’s plenty on the internet.

Not hidden at all. Just do a folder search for “Porno,” and there ya go… It’s a few folders deep from the desktop, but not hidden.
ETA : as far as non-computer porn, it’s even less hidden - in a big ol’ box…

Mine’s all under a separate account on my computer, so it doesn’t ever accidentally appear when I don’t want it to. I can’t see any of it unless I log out and log back in. The account itself is called “test”, and if anyone sees the list of accounts, I can explain that I used that account to test setting up permissions (which is true).
Now I also have an external hard drive, and I’ve moved most of my collection onto it. But the external drive annoyingly recognizes whoever mounts it as its owner, so I worked some UNIX voodoo with the folder execute permissions so that you can’t browse to that directory. On my other account, then, I put a shortcut on the desktop to a point deeper in the hierarchy that bypasses the un-executable folder.
In either case, once you get past the protection layer, everything’s labeled for what it is (a “porn” folder, with subfolders for various categories).

TrueCrypt _is_ an excellent program for hiding anything from anyone pretty much up to the FBI (in which case the proper course of action is to smash your hard drive with a hammer and/or incinerate it—actual government policy for “top secret” information).

Same. In fact, it’s rather clearly labeled. Most of the stuff I actually keep on my computer is scanlated manga, so it’s in two sub-folders of my manga folder, the !Adult sub-folder (! to keep it above the alphabetizing folders), and the !Adult sub-sub-folder of the !Yuri sub-folder. (I have a very organized scanlation collection.)

No reason to hide it. Modern OS’s will find all the stuff with just a few keyword searches. So on an external hard drive that I hope I never have to take to the shop.
(Am I the only one who likes to catalogue porn for easy searching? Am I the only one?)

I love that comic. (Although TrueCrypt even has a feature where you can put in two passwords—one that opens the archive in one way, displaying files that are not really the ones you want to protect, and one that opens the really secret files. So theoretically you can give the wrench-man the first password, and he sees your Playboy porn instead of your otter porn. Not that one would actually want to try that.)

I used to have a ridiculously catalogued porn collection, down to color of hair (with shortcuts if there was more than one girl. so main file under “redheads” with a shortcut to it under “blondes” if that were the case) and acts performed, ordered by how much I liked it. This was back when I had a slow connection and streaming porn took too long. Now I’ve deleted most of them (it was like 25-30 gigs easy) and just have some of my favorite ones plus some weird shit (like I got one of a girl dressed up like Naruto, which is odd)
