He’s been considered staff for years. Kind of an end-of-story situation. I guess I’m weird, but the sarcasm didn’t bother me at all. I totally understood what he meant. And I’m not generally the biggest fan of sarcasm to make a point. That said, I do believe the rule does also say we don’t attack the Discourse staff. I remember getting some angry DMs from the mods when they thought I was being too insulting, putting the site in danger. ---

“Staff” in this case includes any member of the Discourse team, any member of the Sun Times (our owners), Ed, and the moderators. This is not a new rule. And since the OP is more interested in being snarky than resolving any sort of issue, this is closed. ATMB is where we resolve issues. It’s not the place to snark for one’s own entertainment. ---
