And, really, you probably ought to email an administrator if you’ve been here before. As a policy issue (from [the registration agreement](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=148527)), only one screen name is permitted per user, and it would be better to get that cleared up. ---

The two core members of the Residents are **Hardy Fox** and **Homer Flynn**. Hardy can be seen playing guitar (sans eyeball mask) on the _Moisture_ video. According to Great Pop Things (book available at [http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1891241087/002-1165590-9751216?vi=glance](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1891241087/002-1165590-9751216?vi=glance) and I still haven’t learned how the SDMB does links with titles…bloody weird non-html), my ultimate authority on all rock and/or roll, the Residents are: “70s teen idol David Cassidy, Salvador Dali (until he died), ‘Thunderbirds’ puppeteer Gerry Anderson, Cynthia Plastercaster and Snake Blintz, a fictional character from Oliver Stone’s ‘ESCAPE FROM NEWPORT, GWENT’ also starring Hal Holbrook as ‘Bunny’…” …so now you know for absolutely sure. On a more serious note, doesn’t Molly Harvey deserve to be called a Resident by now? Jeez. ---

One of the Residents was a guy by the name of Snakefinger. He had a solo career as well on the same record label as The Residents (Ralph Records). He died in the early 90’s or late 80’s. One of the other Residents is female. ---
