I can take or leave lima beans. The regional grocery store chain in these parts, Meijer, does not have lima beans in their frozen mixed veggies. Most other store brands IME do.
I do find that frozen lima beans can sometimes be difficult to find. It must be because they’re so popular that it’s difficult to keep them on the shelves.
The one in Ohio is actually properly pronounced the same as the bean, “lime-a”. The on in Peru is more like “leema” instead.
Nope. Butter beans are bigger and pale yellow. Lima beans are smaller and brighter green.
Not that I eat lima beans, but I’ve seen them. My mom does use butter beans in a type of bean dish she sometimes makes. I’d just as soon she leave them out at IMO they’re the worst part of it, but I have eaten them.
