I’m wearing through the skin on my right middle fingertip. It’s the one I use to push the needle. This afternoon, I decided that my costume didn’t have enough beads on it, so I’m sewing several extra yards of fringe on, and I may do some hand applique before the night is through. I also have to hunt up another bunch of bellydancer gear for a friend, who ideally would like me to make her a whole, hand-beaded outfit. Tonight. Without even having her in the city to get measurements. After that, I’ve got to finish my SO’s Aragorn/Legolas outfit. I hope he doesn’t try to wear a sword. The security at the club we’re going to would not be amused. So, that’s my evening. Any other fanatic procrastinators out there, and what are you working on? ---

I went through a lot of ideas. I started out trying to make some armour, but that didn’t work. Then I realized I had a tight red leather jacket and a white sparkly glove. Micheal Jackson. So Then as I’m putting everything on I look up and the mirror and go. “Hey, I look like Enrique!” So now I’m trying to figure out what to use as a mole… ---

I was trying to come up with a good last minute costume. I figured I might go goth. But the outfits I generally use for my goth look are… well… slutty and that probably wouldn’t go over too well at work. Then I figured I might just do crazy things with hair and make-up without actually figuring out something to be. So I went and bought hair coloring. But then I wasn’t sure I wanted to have goop in my hair all day. Then I was going to be an M&M. But I didn’t really want to stay up late making the costume. So I might just go as a fencer which, since I am a fencer, isn’t really a costume. Basically I’d just be dressing up as me. But I already have all the necessary clothing/equipment and I’m feeling lacking in energy and inspiration. ---

Grr, I’m a starving college student… literally. I’ve been living off ramen. A costume doesn’t fit in the budget. ☹ I suppose I could just make something and save some cashola, but I’d still have to buy materials… plus I’m really, really, _really_ lazy. Ah well. Guess I’ll just have to go dressed as a sexy beast!!! 😃 hehe ---

**Lissla Lissar** , why not use a thimble while stitching? No need for me to stay up all night, since I’m wearing a costume I already have, my Pagan Priestess outfit. Very loose black gown, comfortable to wear while entertaining. Long, silvery wig, lots of glitter around my eyes, crescent moon painted on my forehead, etc. Happy Samhain! ---

I find it hard to sew with a thimble, especially for small, finicky things like beading. I need to be able to feel where the needle is going. The Aragorn/Legolas getup is almost finished- I have to run down to the sewing store for bias binding, but the coat and tunic are done. I’ve put together a basic outfit for my friend, out of stuff I’ve got lying around- beaded hip scarf, exercise top, beaded vest, long skirt. I’ve finished putting the fringe on my belt, but now I’m debating about whether to sew some extra onto my top. I might. Then again, I might have a nap. 😃 Actually I did get to bed by two. It took less time than I expected. I’m not working today, but there’s a store near work which has a free Sundae bar for anyone in costume. I might dress my fiance up, get the wrinkles out of my 12th century/I-think-I’m-an-elf dress and go down there later. It’s too chilly to wear the real stuff for walking around. ---

I stayed up until 5 AM last night working on my really pathetic elf costume, and I still have a couple of hours to go on it. It doesn’t help that I’ve never sewn in my life. The stitching is all haphazard and irregular. It also doesn’t help that I’m making it out of cut-up T-shirts. I would have worn the thimble to keep my fingers from getting poked so many times, but I would have needed about six thimbles. ---

When I arrived on campus this morning, I walked past a woman wearing a black ninja outfit and carrying a sword sheath. I was highly perplexed, until I remembered that October 31 isn’t just the day my thesis proposal is due, it’s also Hallowe’en. Anyways, since I completely forgot about Hallowe’en, my grand costume idea is a white shirt, a pair of dress pants, my glasses, a striped tie, and a safety pin to hold the tie at a funny U-shaped angle. I’m going to be Dilbert. ---

Well my Enrique costume worked. I used a piece of leather and some duct tape as a mole. Plus throughout the day I moved it around my face. Oh and have you ever seen that Antonio Banderas sketch on SNL? Where he keeps unbuttoning his shrit as his band yells “NO ITS TO SEXY!” Well, that was me all day. Then I would take peoples things, hold them for a second then go. “Now it is sexy!” And theres still tonight! ---
