# So...why am I so ticklish and how do I get over it?

I should add that I had been conditioned by a string of previous girlfriends who pretty much always reacted to tickling as if it were a very welcome form of physical intimacy, because with all that touching and rolling around and giggling, the tickling led to all sorts of other interesting forms of intimacy.

I agree it can be a very sweet form of intimacy, with the right people. I used to tickle my son, and I have been briefly tickled (lightly for a second or two) in the right way where I didn’t come unglued. But when the purpose of it is to terrorize the recipient, it’s just fucked up.

I’m pretty ticklish.

If you sneak up behind me and poke me in the ribs, I jump and shriek fit to break glass two halls down. And I will levitate into midair, turn, and smack the perp silly before coming back down.
