Why have that page telling me about the DNS servers are not updated please click here…why not just make it go there the first time?

Because they have to update the DNS servers to do that.

No doubt they have, but the problem is that changes to DNS entries take time to propagate. Until that happens, [boards.straightdope.com](http://boards.straightdope.com) will point to the old server.

Probably not worth the trouble with all of the other fixes that need to be done. The DNS will update soon - 12 to 24 hours.
