You know, I don’t really know what to do with that. I guess he felt very strongly about what other people do. He had the strength of his convictions? Protesting by killing yourself seems like a defeatist attitude, though - that’s one way to make sure you never have a say in anything again. ---

I don’t remember the canonical term for it, but it looks like Notre Dame will likely need to have a caremony for cleansing, or purifying the sanctuary or altar area. Some years ago I remember a news story about a naked man who ran around in St. Patrick’s cathedral in New York City. A followup article had a photo of a bishop conducting a sanctification ritual, incense and all. ---

I’m only concerned about one thing: whether the bullet or skull fragments flew off and damaged one of those gorgeous rose windows. And I’m sure this event will give all same-sex weddings in Notre Dame a bit more poignancy. ---
