Well for crying out loud whatever you do don’t poke it with your finger! :smack: D’oh. Silly leechbabe burnt her finger investigating the contents of the furnace. Really you would think my brain would process the following info Ears - furnace making blowing sounds Eyes - gas lamp is burning bright blue Legs - can feel warm air blowing and realise that the furnace is on and therefore HOT. Then it should have sent a message to my finger - Don’t Touch. Somehow none of the above occured. Now my finger is ouchie ☹ ---

Are you related to my aunt in North Carolina who 15-20 years ago wanted to see if the stove was hot? So she touched it. Not just a fingertip, either. She did a full, flat handplant on the burner and wound up with a lovely spiral burn. Note to self: Electric stoves can be plenty hot, even when not glowing red. As for your fucnace, what were you expecting to be in there, surviving the flames? ---
