Senators Feinstein and Boxer, and Congressman Campbell all got the same message from me (A registered R when I have a binary choice of D or R).
“Regardless of HOW we get there, if you don’t get this cleaned up before the US defaults, then I and many others will work as hard as possible to unseat you. Those in office will be held responsible, regardless of what party they belong to, or what rules or games are played. We can NOT afford as a nation to default, to delay checks, and to see our nation’s credit rating touched.”
Second district of Missouri and my Congressman (Tood Aiken - R) was already on the record as saying the school lunch program should be eliminated at the federal level, so I don’t think he particularly cares about my POV.
Keith Ellison is my rep - as one of the only Muslims in Congress, I’ll leave it as an exercise to the reader what party he affiliates with. And both my Senators are Dems too. So contacting them is preaching to the choir, methinks.
I called my Congresscritter’s office and reminded him (well, his office voice mail) that we need to cut spending and retain tax cuts, and opined that I was not unhappy to see the debt ceiling used as a lever to accomplish that goal.
