(Yes, I’m aware that a) this thread has probably been done and b) this is really not a new game. Deal with it. 😉 ) I just finished replaying _Portal_ for the millionth time–no, it’s not what you’re thinking, don’t leave–and finally decided to give _Half-Life 2_ a proper shot. In between the crowbar and the goddamn squishy bug things, I started thinking: hmm. Gordon Freeman. Good with a crowbar. Hopelessly nerdy. Good-looking in a scruffy bearded spectacled way. Fights off rampaging alien civilization to save his (potential) love interest… Dammit! So, make me feel better about clinging to the Orange Box and share. 🙂 What’re your video game crushes? ---

Lara, mostly. Though there’s a certain squishy fondness for the TF2 Heavy as well. That’s weird. I don’t know what that’s about. ---

Oh, I’m hopeless on these. Carth Onasi in Knights of the Old Republic, Atton Rand in Knights of the Old Republic 2, Aarin Gend in Neverwinter Nights, Valen Shadowbreath in Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark. Sky in Jade Empire. And I don’t even want to get into the Baldur’s Gate series and the addon characters… _sigh_ I’m sure I’d have added someone from Mass Effect if I had bought it - my laptop is a tad underpowered for it or I’d be drooling over someone in that game by now, I’m sure. Just stamp ‘Sucker’ on my forehead for a little computer character romancing, a guy whispering through my headphones into my ear… ---

I had a thing for various wimmins in those old gold box D&D games. Nothing like some EGA cheesecake for a young geek in the 90s. Let’s see, who else… Ruby the genie from Dark Cloud Bastila (although she was kind of a bitch) and Mission (wonder what she can do with those head-tails?) from KOTOR Female Commander Shepard from Mass Effect (hmm, same voice as Bastila…) Elise and Zoe from SSX ---

I’ve never been one to get “crushes” on video game or anime characters… except Alyx. I actually was playing all of the Half-Life series (to Ep. 2) back to back (never played them before Orange Box) and had to stop after the very intro to Ep. 2 (played it last week) because I got a little um… TOO attached and completely freaked out when I thought Alyx died after the first transmission. I immediately went to Gamefaqs to make sure she got better… then I stopped playing to allow myself some healthy detachment from the character before I got all creepy and obsessed. I have to admit, Valve did a GREAT job making me feel connected to the world though, no other game has ever immersed me to the degree that I ACTUALLY cared about the characters without forcing myself to RP (which draws me in a LITTLE, but not that much). ---

Zoey rocks, no question. But I’m agape at what Rare did to Humba Wumba from the **Banjo-Kazooie** series. **Annah** from _Planescape: Torment_ - she has a tail, a scottish accent, and the smell of embalming fluid turns her on. Possibly not a girl after everyone’s heart. **Maya** from _Septerra Core_ - tough but tender. Her hair is huge and plastic-looking, but she looks good in nothing but tatoos. **Imoen** from _Baldur’s Gate_ (yikes!) - she gets really hot when she goes goth, but by that time you already know she’s your half-sister. **Jade** from _Beyond Good and Evil_ - turns out, with the right skintone, green lipstick is surprisingly sexy. **Fleece** from _Summoner_ - a bad girl from the mean streets who helps trick you into burning your hand off, only to rescue you afterwards. A real heartbreaker. **Rikku** from _Final Fantasy 10_ - a cute mechanic like **Led** from _Septerra Core_, only it’s somewhat plausible Rikku’s of age. Where does she hide that wrench? **Stilletto** from _Anachronox_ - maybe I just have a thing for women who stab people? ---
