Of course, there are three different forms one must consider: 1. What the locals call you (informal), which has to be short, as they’d get peeved otherwise. 2. The short form of your title (formal locally), which has the most important jobs mentioned. 3. The really long form (formal internationally), which, in the right hands, will incorporate all possible local titles, as well as making claims towards royal titles that no longer exist. Of these titles, I have managed to prepare two: 1. “Chief” 2. His Imperial Highness, Emperor Above All Emperors, Grandest of Viziers, Commander of the Army, Admiral of the High Seas, Marshal of the Air Force, Chairman of the Privy Council, Keeper of the Seals, Executive Director of the Party, Constable of the Nation, Viceroy of the Gods, Lord Protector, Comptroller of the Currency, Czar of the Russias, Emperor of France, King of Scotland, Prince of Albania, and Scourge of the Southland. I’ll be damned long before I’ll figure out how to cut 3) into something short enough to be 2), but that’s a risk I have to take. ---
