[/QUOTE] I haven’t been to the new Barney’s Beanery, though I’ve been to the original one in West Hollywood a number of times, and to the one on the Third Street Prominade once. I’m pretty underwhelmed by the food, which is about on par with Chili’s, Applebee’s, et cetera; I think the appeal is the hipster clientele. (Allegedly, Quentin Tarantino frequents the one in West Hollywood, though I’ve never seen him there.) From what I’ve heard, Houstan and Fattal (the new owners) plan to turn it into a corporate chain and put them all over metro L.A. and beyond. Once they cross the Orange Curtain, it’s all over. Holy crap! It’s _today_ in Pasadena? How did I miss this thread? ☹ This is the first time I have the personal freedom (just moved out of parents’ house) to make it to a Dopefest, too. That said, I’m broke as nobody’s business, just turned 20 (so no pubbery for me) and would need gas money and/or carpooling. Can we do this again sometime in October or November, with at least a portion of it at an all-ages establishment (or maybe even 18-up, like a hookah lounge or something)? I can probably convince my roommate to pay for gas then. 😃 ---

How about some time in late October or November? (Pasadena? Barney’s? It seems adequately central and accessible, but I’m open to other suggestions that don’t involve scaling the Curtain or driving out to the Evil Empire.) Anybody want to toss out a date and time that we can play with and bat around like a group of kittens with a rubber band?
