Y’all are burying the lead a bit here. Colibri isn’t just a scientist. He’s a mod. He’s one of the people in charge of caretaking the board and it’s community.
Trolling is completely incompatible with that. He may piss me off ocasionally, but I know when he insults me, he’s genuinely frustrated and not just trying to stir up trouble.
The OP’s apparent obstinance in understanding, on the other hand, is rather suspicious. Especially since they have a 2016 join date, IIRC.
It’s not impossible they’re just clueless, but each post makes it seem less likely.
I’ll spell it out: trolls are disingenuous. They are often mean, too, but not always. The main point is that they want to cause a fuss.
People venting are not trolling. People insulting others are not necessarily trolling because they can also be venting or expressing real frustration.
My sincere apologies Colibri. I didn’t connect “SD Curator of Critters” to ‘moderator’ until too late. I have been disrespectful, and I own that. I will shut up now and try to learn some manners.

I should be clear, however, that I was posting here as a poster, not a moderator. You’re allowed to insult anyone in the Pit, including moderators, as long as they are are acting as a poster and not a moderator.
Yeah, a mod posting qua mod usually switches on the lights and siren in the form of a “Mod Hat On” notice or some such. Is there in fact a standard format for that notice in SDMB mod posts?
We usually post something to make it clear we are posting as a moderator, and use Staff Color as here to highlight the post. [Note. This is not a mod post. I am just illustrating.]

Listen buddy; If you say or post something stupid, and people point out that it was stupid, this is simply you suffering the natural consequences of being stupid.
What these people seem to want is the right to spout of idiotic garbage, consequence free.
