Social Security: I hate it when there’s a kernel of truth from the Republican opposition

But that’s precisely the opposite of what the word means! If you are entitled to something, it means you have earned it. So annoying.

Wikipedia says not:

3rd paragraph under “History” heading:

Social Security benefits are paid from a combination of social security payroll taxes paid by current workers and interest income earned by the Social Security Trust Fund.

So the interest on the government bonds that the trust fund owns goes to pay Social Security benefits, not to the government general fund.
