Whatever happend to Socks, the Clinton’s cat? Last we heard, Socks was “jealous” about Buddy the new dog. Has Socks died or something? I remember the media used to make a big deal out of Socks but then he got forgotten in all of the Clinton scandals. From, Anake ---

socks is alive and well. i don’t know if they told him about the change of address though. ---

I heard a rumor that Socks was buying a house in New Jersey and is thinking of running for Congress in 2002. Is there any truth to this? ---

According to [this site](http://www.purr-n-fur.org.uk/famous/socks.html): “In the end, though, it was thought best that he should be given to Betty Currie, Mr Clinton’s former personal secretary and one of Socks’ staunchest friends, who has now retired. She lives in Maryland, and at the time of writing (May 2005), I am reliably informed that Socks is alive and well.” And threads stay live for _six years_ in this place? Wo, and, indeed, w. ---

That’s good to hear! I liked the picture of Socks riding Clinton’s shoulder. I had a cat that used to do that. Oh, and there’s a link to Bush’s cat, [India](http://www.whitehouse.gov/kids/india/index.html)-she looks just like my Piper-Grace!
