# Soda Machines in Freezing Weather

The “ice-cold” Coke thread reminded me of something I’ve wondered about for a while. What happens to outdoor vending machines when it’s below freezing out? Do they have the ability to warm the sodas up to the target (non-freezing) temperature in addition to the refrigeration system? Or if I bought a soda when it was incredibly cold out, would it really be ice-cold (i.e. frozen)?
